Maple Leafs cancel open practice downtown
Ethan LangThe Toronto Maple Leafs have cancelled an open practice at Mattamy Athletic Centre this morning, encouraging fans in a statement to avoid non-essential travel in the snow.
The practice had already been rescheduled and moved from an outdoor rink in Etobicoke this weekend due to the cold snap.
The team could have used it ahead of Sunday afternoon.
Toronto lost 4-1 to the Colorado Avalanche after an embarrassing loss to Las Vegas in Mitch Marner’s return to the city Friday. But neither the Leafs’ poor performance or the winter weather could stop fans from braving it to Scotiabank Arena Sunday.
