Nearly 10 cm of snow is expected in Brantford, Ont., on Wednesday, says Environment Canada.

The weather agency issued a yellow warning for snowfall just after 5 a.m. in which it said an "Alberta clipper" will push into the region with snow beginning this morning impacting people's commute.

According to Environment Canada, travel will likely be challenging, roads and walkways will likely be difficult to navigate due to accumulating snow, there may be a significant impact on rush hour traffic, and visibility will likely be reduced at times.

The snow will ease through the afternoon but wind gusts near 50 km/h will lead to blowing snow especially for more exposed wind prone areas, Environment Canada said.

Under Environment Canada’s colour-coded warning system,  the yellow level indicates  a chance of localized or short-term moderate impacts, according to the weather agency.
