Chinese New Year

New Year is the most important festival in China. It's a time spent with family and friends enjoying food, music and dance. The date of Chinese New Year changes because the lunar calendar determines it. Even though the date changes, New Year's day usually falls between January 21 and February 20. In 2026, New Year's is February 17, 2026. In China, celebrations for the New Year last for weeks, with the first celebrations happening one week before and ending with a lantern festival in March. Chinese New Year also marks the start of a new zodiac sign; 2026 is the year of the horse.

Year of the Horse

Chinese zodiac signs occur on a twelve-year cycle. There are twelve animals representing each sign, and in addition to these, there are five elements. 2026 is the year of the horse. The year of the horse symbolizes energy, confidence, progress, and forward momentum. It is traditionally associated with leadership, optimism, and taking bold steps toward growth and opportunity. In Chinese culture, the Horse represents perseverance, community strength, and a spirit of moving forward together — making it a meaningful year to celebrate innovation, collaboration, and shared success.
