Neil Young unveils new anti-Trump song, Big Crime
'Got to clean the White House out,' Young sings on the new track

Neil Young has shared a new song, Big Crime, which takes aim at the Trump administration.
On the fiery track, Young sings, "Got to get the fascists out, got to clean the White House out," and "There's big crime in D.C. at the White House."
Young and his band, the Chrome Hearts, are currently on tour and performed the song for the first time during the Chicago stop on Aug. 27.
Another lyric in the song calls out President Trump's decision to deploy the military in Washington. D.C. as part of his crackdown on crime: "Don't want soldiers on our streets," Young sings.
Young has previously spoken out against the president. In 2015, he filed a lawsuit against Trump for using the song Rockin' in the Free World during his campaign, and in 2020, he endorsed Bernie Sanders for president and said Trump was "a disgrace to my country."
"Your mindless destruction of our shared natural resources, our environment, and our relationships with friends around the world is unforgivable," Young shared on his website, Neil Young Archives, in an open letter to Trump.
More recently, in April, Young expressed concerns about the president allowing him to tour in the U.S.
"When I go to play music in Europe, if I talk about Donald J. Trump, I may be one of those returning to America who is barred or put in jail to sleep on a cement floor with an aluminum blanket," Young wrote on Neil Young Archives. "That is happening all the time now. Countries have new advice for those returning to America."
"If I come back from Europe and am barred, can't play my USA tour, all of the folks who bought tickets will not be able to come to a concert by me," he continued. "That's right folks. If you say anything bad about Trump or his administration, you may be barred from re-entering [the] USA if you are Canadian. If you are a dual citizen like me, who knows? We'll all find that out together."
Young has released many politically-charged songs throughout his career and was also openly critical about the Richard Nixon administration. His 1970 song, Ohio, is famously about the Kent State University shootings that took place in May of that year, when the Ohio National Guard was called in to quell an anti-Vietnam War protest that resulted in the death of four students. "Tin soldiers and Nixon's coming," he sings.
Young is next set to perform in Milwaukee on Aug. 29.
