Make the Season Kind
Make Newfoundland and Labrador Kind
Every year, CBC teams across Canada come together to help make a difference in our communities.
This December, join CBC in Newfoundland and Labrador for our annual Make the Season Kind campaign, a celebration of kindness, generosity and community spirit. We’re once again partnering with local food banks to support families and individuals in need.
Let’s come together this holiday season to spread kindness and help our neighbours in need.
Special Day of Programming on Dec. 5
On Friday, Dec. 5, CBC held a special day of programming across the province to kick off Make the Season Kind in Newfoundland and Labrador.
Live remotes were held at Bannerman Brewing in St. John's, at FEED Market and Cafe in Corner Brook and at Tim Hortons in Gander.
Representatives from local food banks and the Community Food Sharing Association were onsite collecting monetary and non-perishable food donations throughout the special events.
Snow didn't stop the turkeys flying in during the annual turkey drive and Labrador Morning live remote outside CBC in Happy Valley-Goose Bay. Sixty-eight turkeys were donated and $2,172 was collected in support of the Roland Shears Memorial Christmas Hamper program.
