One person is dead after a two-vehicle crash in Thames Centre Thursday afternoon.

Middlesex County OPP said emergency crews were called to Dundas Street between Shaw Road and Fairview Road around 1:20 p.m. for a serious collision involving an SUV and a dump truck.

Police said the SUV was travelling westbound when it collided with the dump truck. The 34-year-old driver of the SUV, from London, was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and later died.

The driver of the dump truck was not injured.

OPP's Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team is assisting with the investigation. Dundas Street is expected to remain closed for several hours.
