A heating boiler caused smoke to be seen coming out of the top of Yellowknife's Watermark apartment building Wednesday afternoon, according to the City of Yellowknife.
In a news release Thursday, the city said a fire alarm was pulled in the building and eight firefighters responded.
"The smoke was caused by a heating boiler in the building," the release says. "The boiler was turned off, with follow-up maintenance and repairs to be conducted by building maintenance staff."
By 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, emergency vehicles had left the scene.
The building's manager told CBC News there was no fire and would not answer questions about the source of the smoke.
